When building a product or service as a solo-founder, it can be a real struggle knowing what to focus on when you get the time to actually start building. Once you start building a product, this battle gets harder as you often have more things to fix and adjust the more you make.
I have a different approach for building software, digital products and services but, with all, I try to outline what should be there to solve the client’s needs, then I try to turn that into chapters / modules / lessons / project milestones / features in the app. Then it becomes a matter of prioritising them to make sure I build them out.
In many cases, capturing the chapter / feature etc. to be built, you need somewhere to drill down, capture notes and reference points, while keeping everything organised so you don’t get lost and overwhelmed. To manage this process with building software products, I have used a tool called Notion where I built out a Product Management template. Check it out…
You should so something similar for building out your product or service. It will get more and more valuable as time goes on.
